SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER

The Senior Mechanical Engineer at Acterra Group plays a pivotal role within our dynamic team, dedicated to overseeing the installation and design of above ground fuel tanks for critical facilities such as airports and military installations. Our fueling systems and storage tanks are designed to meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, ensuring that fuel storage and dispensing systems we install are the best on the market. Salary: $90,000 to commensurate

Location: On-Site in Marion, IA

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop fueling storage tanks, systems, and components, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate closely with the COO, VP of Commercial Services, and other key stakeholders to develop and implement sound engineering design.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical, software, and other project components.
  • Serve as a critical point of communication, ensuring clear and consistent engagement with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
  • Adapt designs and approaches to meet evolving needs, focusing on innovative solutions and technical integrity of designs.
  • Support manufacturing and production teams to ensure smooth transition from design to production.
  • Implement and refine engineering procedures, driving continuous improvement in effective practices and performance.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations, particularly in high-stakes environments like airports and military installations.
  • Foster a culture of excellence and accountability within the organization.

  • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, with a Professional Engineering license or Master’s degree preferred.
  • In-depth experience with drawing layouts and proficiency in CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks, AutoCAD) and simulation tools (e.g. ANSYS, MATLAB).
